Hi! My name is Ryan Bridgewater and I live in Vancouver, BC, where I was born and raised. I have a Marketing Degree from Langara College, which helped me develop my own business, Ante Up Clothing, in 2005. This experience allowed me to develop a number of qualities and skills, including interpersonal skills, business skills and management capability (self-motivation skills, time management skills, administrative skills, and interpersonal skills). I bring these qualities and skills to Dog WAGS and I look forward to this new venture.
I am athletic, enjoy the outdoors, and love interacting with people. I grew up with dogs in my family and have always felt passionate about working with them. I am particularly familiar with handling larger breeds, such as Golden Retrievers and Standard Poodles. However, I am quickly familiarizing myself with handing smaller breeds, such as the Miniature Schnoodle.
The safety of the dogs that I work with is of the utmost importance to me, and this is one of the reasons I found it important to get my Pet First Aid, which I currently have. This has come in handy more than once on the trails, both in diagnosing maladies with our own dogs, as well as dogs suffering from one ailment or the other on the trails. I believe that you should “treat someone else’s dog like they’re your own”, and this comes through in how I am with all dogs, and I hope you give me a chance to show you!
Techniques and methods used by Dog WAGS Owners, Ryan and Dan, for walking packs of dogs is outlined in the GUIDANCE section.
